Forest-Population Balance
Le 25 April 2025 - -
Objectives
Striking a balance between forest management and wildlife regulation requires a thoughtful, collaborative approach. This balance is based on the coexistence between controlled wildlife development, regulated by hunting, and the ability of the forest to regenerate naturally, while adapting to the interventions of foresters.
This complex challenge requires a constant dialogue between hunters and foresters, based on accurate observations, constructive exchanges, shared diagnosis and coordinated actions carried out with determination and tenacity.
During this day, we will explore the different types of damage caused by large ungulates and learn how to quantify them. We will discuss the hunting measures to be implemented and forestry practices that can limit the impacts of game on young plantations.
Speakers
- Pierre Bormann, ranger Domaines Frère-Bourgeois
- Marine Rézette, PEFC forest certification manager
