Guide to European tree barks
35,00€
While it's fairly easy to recognise a tree by its flowers, buds, leaves or needles, it's much trickier to identify it by its bark alone.
The difficulty becomes even greater when it comes to distinguishing between two species belonging to the same genus: being able to say, for example, whether you are in the presence of a pedunculate oak or a sessile oak, a cembro pine or an Austrian black pine, is a perilous task.
The approach taken in this book is to provide a large number of photographs showing each species in different locations and at different ages (juvenile, mature and old). On the basis of these photographs, the attentive observer who is already fairly experienced can almost certainly identify the tree of interest to him.
