Discovering the Bois de la Houssière and the Vertbois reserve
Le 18 October 2025 - Braine-Le-Comte
Discover the different landscapes of the Bois de la Houssière and the former sand pit, now the Vertbois nature reserve, on a guided walk of around 4 km. Young and old alike will learn about the forest management of the wood, which has been classified as a Natura 2000 site, and the restoration of the sandpit as a nature reserve. You'll be able to observe and recognise plant species in their ecosystems.
The Société Royale Forestière de Belgique (SRFB) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the forest and foresters. Its Forest Friends projects are aimed at the general public who want to understand the forest environment. The SRFB's volunteer Forest Guides will help you discover the forest as a source of life, in close contact with people.
Walk for the general public. Our dog friends don't like our explanations. Leave them at home instead. Bring weather-appropriate clothing and boots or ankle boots. No disabled access.
Registration required (places are limited) on 0476/21.43.30.
