Hammering in irregular terrain
Le 12 March 2025 - Louvain-la-Neuve
Objectives
This theoretical AND practical training course is designed for people who want to gain a better understanding of the principles of continuous cover mixed silviculture (CCMS) when hammering a stand.
In particular, it will help landowners to apply silviculture that is closer to nature, with a view to achieving stand irregularisation. It will enable landowners to understand the guiding objectives of tree marking specific to the stand, and to make a variety of reasoned felling choices as a result. It will help them to understand how to dose this operation while improving the quality of the wood, its structure, the amount of light brought to the ground and biodiversity, and to adapt their hammering to the species and regeneration.
