Bois de la Houssière and Vertbois nature reserve

Cross the different landscapes of the Bois de la Houssière and the former sandpit, now the Vertbois nature reserve. Approximately 4 km walk, open to all. Our guide will talk about forest management in the wood, which has been classified as a Natura 2000 site, and the restoration of the sandpit as a nature reserve. The emphasis will be on observing and recognising plant species in their ecosystem.
The Royale Forestry Society of Belgium (RFSB) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the forest and foresters. Its Forest Friends projects are aimed at the general public who want to understand the forest environment. The RFSB's volunteer Forest Guides will help you discover the forest as a source of life, in close contact with mankind.
This walk is not accessible to PRM. Dogs don't like our explanations, so please leave them at home.
