Natural regeneration of spruce in Haute Ardenne
Le 12 July 2024 - Elsenborn
Objectives
Spruce is no longer the hegemonic wonder species we once knew, and the need to diversify stands is clear in the minds of all foresters. In the Haute Ardenne, however, spruce has not said its last word and remains a species of prime importance, and the renewal of old spruce stands is still a subject of great relevance. Over the course of the day, we will visit and analyse various plots of land to understand their history, potential, necessary and superfluous operations... The aim is to develop skills in reading the ecosystem in order to arrive at management measures adapted to each situation.
