Tick-borne diseases
Le 12 December 2023 - -
Objectives
After working in the woods, or even after just a walk in the woods, you've probably already noticed tick bites. These are not necessarily harmless. Ticks can transmit various diseases of varying degrees of seriousness to humans and animals. In this webinar, Dr Jean-Pierre Rézette, senior lecturer at ULB and UCLouvain, will discuss the various diseases transmitted by ticks, as well as other diseases that can be contracted in the forest.
It will explain the modes of transmission and the consequences. Particular attention will be paid to the preventive measures that should be applied to minimise the risks. Curative treatments will also be briefly outlined.
