SRFB Forest Guides trained in Shinrin yoku

This weekend, six Forest guides from SRFB were introduced to Shinrin Yoku - Japanese forest bathing - in Gesves. The practice of Shinrin Yoku generally involves walking in the forest or in a natural environment. These slow walks to awaken the senses were led by apprentice guides who had undergone training given by Bernadette Rey, a Quebec guide and trainer (Shinrin Yoku Québec) and his assistant Nolwenn-Joëlle Lécuyer (Senzu Forest) from 27/9 to 6/10.

Bénédicte, one of our Forest Guides, completed the full 9-day training course, gaining certification as a Shinrin yoku Guide.

Shinrin Yoku dates back to the 1980s in Japan. The philosophy behind the approach is to enable modern human beings, who are constantly evolving among increasingly high-performance technologies, to reconnect with nature and reap its benefits. (Source: Shinrin Yoku Québec)
