A conservation orchard for the Koekelaere pine in the Bois de Lauzelle
On 18 November, SRFB met UCLouvain, as owner and manager of Bois de Lauzelle, to discuss the Koekelaere pine.
A conservation orchard of 150 trees will be set up in spring 2020 in the Bois de Lauzelle on a former parcel of spruce trees that have been damaged by bark beetles.
The aim of the orchard is to preserve the selection work that led to this typically Belgian variety of Corsican pine and to produce seeds for the forest of tomorrow.
