Objectives
To produce quality timber, you need to select the most promising trees in the stand and, if necessary, ensure that the trunk is straight by appropriate training pruning and ensure that low branches are pruned to produce knot-free timber. When, with what tools, using what technique? After a brief theoretical introduction, the course will enable you to practise these three important stages in the early life of deciduous and coniferous stands.
