The challenges of forest management
Le 18 October 2024 - Marche-en-Famenne
The deer, the roe deer, the wild boar, the raccoon, the forester and the winner: climate change. Learn more about the resilient forest. A 3.5 km forest walk for all ages. Come and discover a few forest management concepts: regeneration, diversification, respect for the soil, forest-game balance, etc. Compare the advantages and disadvantages of different management methods: even-aged forest, mixed forest, etc. A refreshment is offered at the end of the walk.
The walk is not accessible to PRMs or pushchairs. Bring boots or ankle boots and clothing suitable for the weather. Easy route. Dogs not allowed unless silent on a short lead.
The Société Royale Forestière de Belgique (SRFB) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to forests and foresters. Its Forest Friends projects are aimed at the general public who want to understand the forest environment. The SRFB's volunteer Forest Guides will help you discover the forest as a source of life, in close contact with mankind.
