An evening of exchange and information

Between welcoming the public and respecting private property, forests can sometimes become a source of conflict between owners and users. Environmental issues such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity, as well as a growing demand for social and recreational activities, are also drawing the attention of an increasingly diverse public to woodlands, with different, even antagonistic, viewpoints and priorities.
Against this backdrop, foresters sometimes find themselves confronted with aggressive behaviour or comments, marked by mistrust or even malicious acts (trespassing, dumping of waste, vandalised fences, etc.). How can such mistrust be explained in relation to owners who care deeply about the long-term future of their forests? How should we react? What attitude should we adopt? These are all questions that are often difficult to answer.
That's why we're organising an evening of exchanges and information on communication in the forest, where you'll benefit from the insights of an outstanding speaker: Thomas d'Ansembourg, author of the famous book "Cessez d'être gentil, soyez vrai" ("Stop being nice, be true").

A lawyer, legal adviser, volunteer in a youth aid association, trainer in Non-Violent Communication, author of numerous books, actor in edutainment plays, sponsor of educational projects and lecturer, Thomas is also the owner of a PEFC-certified forest. A wise speaker and an opportunity not to be missed to gain a better understanding of the challenges of forestry communication. More about Thomas.
