Explorarium... a gentle blend of culture and nature
Join the Royal Forestry Society of Belgium at the Explorarium in Mariemont on 9 October!
This event is a slow festival, an invitation to discover and slow down. Armed with your exploration booklet, you'll explore the various venues in Mariemont Park. You'll meet musicians, storytellers and acrobats. Along the way, you'll be surprised by a range of fun activities: wooden games, riddles, etc.
To mark the occasion, a team of Forest Guides from the Royal Forestry Society of Belgium will be putting on two events. The first invites you to discover "Who lives in the mosaic forest? Using clues, find out in which part of the forest the woodpecker, the anemone or the lizard live. Climate change is causing disturbances in the forest: disease, drought, strong winds, etc. Find out how the "mosaic forest" provides a home for a wide variety of animals and plants.
The second, a more sensory experience, takes you "up into the trees...". Are you ready for an amazing journey? Armed with a magic tool (a mirror), explore the treetops while walking on solid ground. You'll be amazed!
SRFB is once again taking part, having already been present at the Explorarium in Rixensart last September.
