Objective

This introductory course on felling techniques is intended for forest owners, managers, workers, technicians, and students.  

During this, you will be introduced to the use and maintenance of the chainsaw with guidance from professionals and specialists. 

The training is designed to be adaptive. Therefore, depending on your initial level, you will learn basic or more or less advanced felling techniques.

Program

8:45 Welcoming participants 
9:00 AM Classroom presentation: mechanical description of chainsaws, safety rules, tree felling and shaping techniques, use of bio-chain oil, chain maintenance and sharpening techniques... 
12h00Picnic (bring your own) 
13h00 Practical felling and shaping exercises in the field (each participant will work on at least 2 trees) 
17h00 End of the day
