Objective

Birch is a timber species that is becoming increasingly common in forests, and the question of its use as construction timber is generating growing interest. As part of the W.A.V.E. project, various technological tests are being carried out by ULiège (Gembloux Agro-Biotech) at the LTB (Wood Technology Laboratory) to assess the potential of this species in construction. Over this half-day event, various researchers will present their work on birch wood technology. The impact of forestry practices on wood quality is one of the themes that will be discussed. The presentations will be followed by a visit to the facilities (sawmill, dryer, workshop, laboratory).
