Which species for the 2020-2021 season?
At the start of the year, the last planting projects of the 2019/2020 season are concluding, and it's already time to think about next winter's planting projects. As such, cultivation contracts are being progressively scheduled. Due to the poor acorn production for all oak species in Europe and the near absence of a harvest, the cultivation of these species (Sessile oak, Hungarian oak, Lucombe oak) has been postponed until 2021.
However, thanks, in particular, to our collaboration with the project « Islands of the future » (ONF, France), new species are being added to the list of species we will be testing as part of the project. The supply of Macedonian pine, sweetgum, incense cedar, redwood, Arizona cypress, common beech of southern origin, and downy oak (of a different origin from those planted this winter) is already scheduled for next autumn. The search for potential plots to host these new plantations will begin in the coming weeks.
