SRFB is holding its annual general meeting. The programme includes a visit to a forest, a general meeting, a conference and dinner.

14h00 | Excursion to the Meerdael forest (Oud-Heverlee) Together with the Forêt de Soignes and the Bois de Hal, the Forêt de Meerdael is a remnant of the great Brabant coal forest. It is an ancient forest with a rich forestry and natural heritage. We'll be touring the forest in the company of agents from the Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos, who will be explaining their forest renewal policy, based largely on the control of natural regeneration, supplemented by the introduction of cell-enrichment plantations (klumps). The project for a new Flemish public forest management policy, adapted in particular in response to climate change, will also be presented. |
