For\u00eatfor LifeLong Learning<\/em> What is it?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The For\u00eatFor Lifelong learning<\/em> (FFLL) training modules are a continuation of the basic For\u00eatfor<\/em> cycle. These are 1 to 2-day modules that enable certain more technical subjects to be explored in greater depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is it for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The FFLL modules are aimed at forest owners and their children. These are \u00abperfectionnement<\/strong>\u00bb level courses and are therefore aimed at an informed audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course is therefore open to people who have completed the basic For\u00eatfor<\/em> cycle as well as people with basic experience, both theoretical and practical in forest management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical birch silviculture\u00ab module\u00bb<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this module is to show the silvicultural, ecological and economic potential of birch, to describe the technical itineraries for producing quality timber, to visit exemplary stands and through collective reflection and practical exercises, to acquire the skills to set up suitable birch silviculture at home. For this module, we will benefit from the expertise of H\u00e9lo\u00efse Dubois<\/strong> who, during her thesis, developed and experimented with these itineraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1: Visit to \u00abexemplary\u00bb stands (Friday 14 June)<\/summary>\n

H\u00e9lo\u00efse Dubois<\/strong>, a forest manager, completed her doctoral thesis on birch and has developed, in the field, silvicultural itineraries to optimise individual growth and wood quality, in birch stands and various mixtures. We will be visiting some exemplary stands in which she has been able to put the findings of her research into practice for several years. Good practice in pruning, thinning, designating, pruning, routing and thinning will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
