Trainee for the TREES FOR FUTURE project

Project description

TREES FOR FUTURE is a project that aims to explore the assisted migration of species and provenances of southern origin as one of the potential ways of adapting forests to climate change.1. 28 species are currently being tested at 49 sites throughout Belgium. The trainee will be an integral part of the TFF team and will take part in the autumn monitoring campaign at all these sites.

The trainee will be responsible for :

  • Supporting the project manager in coordinating scientific monitoring campaigns;
  • Support for project volunteers;
  • Support for data management and processing.

Profile required, skills, training, experience.

We are looking for someone who has :

  • Training (in progress) in forestry sciences
  • Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Good command of IT tools (Word, Excel, Qgis, etc.).
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor work, an entrepreneurial spirit, a proactive attitude and flexibility in your schedule.
  • B driving licence

Internship period

From early to mid-September 2024 for a minimum of 2 months.
